Provider: Rutgers University 

  • Isolated, sequenced, and analysed the expressed genes in the mRNA of Landoltia punctata.

  • Learned about Polymerase Chain Reaction techniques and other sequencing techniques.

  • Gained experience using modern-day protein analysis tools found on National Center for Biotechnology Information  (NCBI).

  • Worked with Basic Local Alignment Search Tool (BLAST), CDTRee, Vector Alignment Search Tool (VAST), and Single-Nucleotide Polymorphisms.

  • Modeled protein structures, found protein function, and determined evolutionary relationships compared to homologous variants found in other organisms.

  • Published two sequences (along with analysis) found here: W369.20 & W374.20
